WHAT ABOUT | JUNIOR ART MARKET

September 25, 2017

The Junior Art Market - Kuching’s first ever Art Market for Kids jointly organized by Flint and Steel Borneo and AVL Art, will be happening this coming 30th September, 2017, between 2-6pm at the Granary Kitchen and Bar.

Participants of the Little Entrepreneurs’ Art Workshops – Bowl Goals, Brag Bag, Artsy Fartsy, Rock N Roll and Tangle Jangle have been working hard since July 2017 to develop intriguing products, ranging from tote bags, painted clay bowls, postcards, paintings, rock magnets, paper weights, jewelry and more homemade products inspired by young and fantastical imaginations, and created out of sheer curiosity and zest.

Throughout the months, we have seen our workshop participants enriched in various ways. Not only have they picked up new art techniques, they have learnt to imagine and dream beyond the ordinary things in order to create unique one-of-a-kind products. Apart from that, they have honed various entrepreneurial character, such as determination, confidence, creative, alert and forward thinking. We at the Small Town Art Market are truly lucky to have a bunch of creative, vibrant and wonderful participants that we too in turn, learned so much from.

Be sure not to miss this coming Junior Art Market! Your presence will serve as a huge boost in the participant’s confidence and that is crucial for their progress. They have worked hard over the past 3 months developing their products, overcoming hurdles and mastering techniques in order to produce art work they are proud of. They have proudly valued and priced their products and all sales made will be theirs to keep.

It will be a kid-friendly afternoon filled with great activities and performances. There will be talent shows by AG Melody, a local music academy, Dance performances by SAGYMA, Interactive story telling and walk in art workshops by Mary Anne Vaz, Flower paper workshop from Tacha by Tachabinya, and our amazing local art vendors from the Small Town Art Market.

Apart from showcasing final products from the workshop participants, this event will be a showcase of young talents from various categories such as singing, music and dancing performances for children aged 12 and below. We want to encourage creativity in kids, a platform to hone social skills, as well as gain confidence and experience in showcasing their talents. EVERYONE'S INVITED!
