SO LONG 2015, HELLO 2016!

January 6, 2016

What a year 2015 has been for Flint and Steel! From our first pop-up store at Green Heights mall to now having this website, and the opportunities to stock our products in The Junk Home and The Raw Kitchen. What can we say? It's been a crazy ride full of long working hours and late nights in front of the computer, new responsibilities, never ending first-times and risks. But at the same time, it's been fun and satisfying. and that's all that matters. The satisfaction we experience when we give our all to do the things we love to do, that alone, makes it all worth it.

When we think of all that Flint and Steel has brought into our lives, we are filled with gratitude to be trusted with something so big and beautiful. Flint and Steel has enabled us to do more than we think we are capable of doing. We like to think that it is our very own 'Sasha Fierce'. Our alter ego that gives us the courage to do everything we have ever wanted. To take risks, take chances, to meet new people, to create beautiful things for the world - products or experiences, to allow what we do to inspire people, and in returned be inspired too, to grow... all these things remind us why we chose to do this in the beginning. It is our fuel to move forward with eagerness and to look back with no regrets.

Some times we feel like we are living in a thrilling movie with the amount of adrenaline we constantly feel. So much uncertainty. So many surprises. So many anxious moments and so much tension. and yet through all of that, we are thankful. we've never felt so much excitement, satisfaction, and never been more sure that this is our dream and this is where we're meant to be.

We were blessed to be able to spend the lasts of 2015 and the firsts of 2016 in Perth. We had 11 days of magic. Couldn't have asked for a better break, it was so good that when we came back we were floating! Getting out of the normal surrounding and just allowing everything new and fresh to amaze and inspire us was definitely what we needed. We did many road trips and laid eyes on so many beautiful things. Don't think we'll ever be able to fully comprehend everything our eyes saw. Amazing how the universe we live in can inspire and fascinate us in ways only it can and help us see that magnificent things are infinite and so are the possibilities and opportunities to make anything we want happen.

Two days before the New Year, we managed to catch sunset at Hillarys Boat Harbour and even when the day was ending there were still batches and batches of color taking turns to fill the sky - blue to orange, pink, purple... crazy to think of all the possibilities. And then we thought to ourseves, Anything can happen the very next moment. Just because the day is coming to a close, or the year for example, that shouldnt stop us from expecting more. because this life can be pretty amazing.

The best is yet to come! Happy 2016 every one! :)

"I shall be telling this with a sigh

Somewhere ages and ages hence:

Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—

I took the one less traveled by,

And that has made all the difference."
